Style Note: This event was a week before heading off to the sunny city of Havana Cuba, so I obviously had bikinis on my mind a little more than I had ball gown shopping on my check list. With that said I had a “wear whatever I can find in my wardrobe” attitude towards my styling for this event purely because I was ‘time poor’ packing for my holiday. Now I wouldn’t recommend this method of prep for such a glam event but as I didn’t have a choice, so I went for a rummage through my rails to see what I had. I dug out a dress I had got from Rare London a while back but had never worn due to the fact that it was made the perfect length for a 5ft 11 super model, now me being a dinky 5.ft 2 I needed some serious tailoring help! A friend of mine is a seamstress so I begged for her help and she thankfully took the hem up and gave me a fitting. This style of dress is perfect for a glam occasion, the heavy draped fabric is great for covering curvy thighs  that you may want to hide or for covering your food baby aka belly bloat after a sit down meal. I wouldn’t recommend it for a woman with a larger bust as it may be a little “tooooo sexy” for a formal occassion and also you can’t hide a bra in this thing either. Overall the nude and black colour scheme will suit every skin tone so no worries there, it’s a winning dress style in my opinion and the guys over at the Daily Mail also gave it a big thumbs up!

STYLE DIARY… London Fashion Week Special (Feb 2017)

Event: London  Fashion Week – February 2017

Location
: London – Freemasons House.

Goodie Bag
: Body Shop, TIGI, ProperCorn, Evian & Gold Collagen  featured in this years goody bags.

Celeb Watch
: Olivia Buckland,, Talia Storm, Naomi Isted, Sarah  Jane Crawford

Event Highlight
: My favorite show this season had to be Barrus…

Barrus is a Turkish brand who presented their AW17 collection at Freemason’s Hall on day four of London Fashion Week.

Design duo, Neslişah Yılmaz and Nur Çağlayan, took inspiration from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, the seventh wonder of the ancient world.  Their new line featured contemporary design from antediluvian roots in the ancient heritage of Mesopotamia. The fabrics were delicate and luxurious and swished down the runway like a gentle wave with every step. The jewel tones combined with satin and lace fabric felt uber expensive, but the designs featured in black & also crisp white were my favourite.

What am I wearing
? New Look, Vintage TopShop.

Hair: Seed Salon,Fulham.

Make Up: Doll 10 cosmetics, Urban Decay, Mac, Smashbox & NYX, KIKO

Style Note:
Just when you have recovered from the last round of fashionistas, fashion parties and fashion shows along comes the next London Fashion Week…. boy does it creep up on you! February fashion week is always the one I dread purely because I’m an bajan island girl so I am simply not built for the cold, wind and rain which is what most February’s in London consist of.

I made a conscious decision prior to February London Fashion Week to opt for comfort & warmth above all impulses to follow the trends regardless of weather conditions!

First stop was to BPR… my lovely friend and PR chica Camilla helped me pick out some party dresses from Rare London… which is one of my go to online boutiques for dresses to flatter my figure and create curves in all the right places. See one of my new favourite dresses from them  in the images below at the Universal Music Pre Brit Awards party with my girly Sarah Jane Crawford. Then I checked in with the PR girls at high street favourite New Look. I went in looking for trends that would keep me warm and footwear that would keep me comfortable! A few staple pieces that really excited me were my first experience of rocking the “Mom jean”, the rocker tee trend, fluffy stilettos & Metallic boots! Check out all my looks below!

Style Notes:
Its that time of year when I start looking towards a more muted Autumnal colour palette when choosing my wardrobe options. I’m thinking Aubergine, Mustard, Khaki, Black Greys & Camel colours…. However if you’re not quite 100% ready to step into the Winter shades then there are still some pops of colour that work perfectly in the winter. When looking on the Rare London website I know I will always find something to wear. There clothing is perfect for a curvy body like mine. I was scanning the site looking for an event outfit that gives me the pop of colour I was craving before fully giving into winter and this dress screamed “Buy Me” …. and so I did! I kept my make up fresh and peachy with a metallic eye and kept the accessories minimal and elegant.
