The Weekend is a British urban comedy starring Joivan Wade, Percelle Ascott and Dee Kaate (AKA Mandem on the Wall), and directed by Sheridan De Myers (Thinking Out Loud, Money and Grime).

Lifelong friends Derrick (Joivan), Malcolm (Percelle) and Tyler (Dee) accidentally come across £100,000. They embark on a hilarious spending spree, splashing the cash on expensive haircuts, new threads, a Range Rover and the party to end all parties: The Weekend to end all weekends. But the money belongs to a furious gangster, and he sets out to get it back…
Joivan Wade, Percelle Ascott and Dee Kaate started life in the hugely popular UK web series Mandem on the Wall. Taking their Mandem characters to TV in E4’s Youngers, they have since appeared all over UK TV, and now own the immensely popular The Wall of Comedy online community. Joivan is currently playing Jordan Johnson in the BBC’s Eastenders.
From famous prankster Ashley Inkz to comedian Arnold Jorge, TV personality Shanie Ryan and comedian Kojo (star of MTV 2’s Wild N Out), The Weekend is jam-packed with the UK’s most exciting up-and-coming and established talent.
Sheridan De Myers has built a reputation for producing and directing innovative films, TV, music videos and more. He’s worked with MTV and Puma, among others. The Weekend is his first feature film. The original story was conceived by Kojo, and the script was written by Davie Fairbanks and Marc Small.

SHANIE HOSTS THE HOMELANDS PREMIERE…

SHANIE HOSTS THE HOMELANDS PREMIERE…

cubxyugxyaacgvw

Shanie hosted the Homelands project premiere this past Wednesday at the BFI, Southbank.

The Homelands project celebrates the influence of heritage upon four contemporary, UK-based black musicians. As we journey to the birthplaces of Grime MC Saskilla (Senegal), Mercury Music nominee Terri Walker (Jamaica), producer Diztortion (Suriname) and MOBO award-winning R&B singer Shakka (Dominica), we explore how their lineage has affected them as individuals and artists. This unique live film and music event will include a short documentary of each journey, as well as the live, debut performance of a specially commissioned track that was composed and performed during the musician’s time in each country. Expect some very special guests, and an insight into the creative process of artists who find cultural inspiration from across the globe.
